Transfercar is an online relocation service that offers free use of rental cars to travellers. In return the travellers are helping the rental car industry to relocate their cars in a cheaper way than any current relocation alternative.
Transfercar has a wide range of free rental cars, camper vans and motor homes. Insurance is usually included and also ferry if applicable. Petrol and other expenses can be included if the relocation is urgent.
The way it works is that we list relocations from rental car companies on our site www.transfercar.co.nz
If you see one car that you would like to drive, then you click the "drive it free" button, tell us when you would like to pick it up, and then log in with your username as password to confirm who you are. A request is then sent to the rental vehicle company that listed the vehicle, and you receive a response, usually within 24 hours. If accepted, you arrange the time to pick up the vehicle directly with the company.
